is it just me, or does the area around the filler cap look like backyard bondo repair?

Someone wrote it was a late prototype. Hopefully, the finish was a bit better on the production cars.
This makes me think about when I visited a former Porsche dealer here in Sweden. He had some great stories about when he picked up 959's from the factory and trailered them to Sweden with a 928 as a tow car. From what I remember, he sold three new 959's through his dealership, despite the fact they couldn't be made road legal in Sweden at the time. He still had one when I visited in 2015, never registered.

This was a prototype car, and earlier cars did not have the hydraulic fill flap installed in them, so most likely, this was added after the fact since it was never meant to be sold as a production car.

notice anything missing from these photos (this would be before Brumos acquired the car):

Here's a 959S with Canepa's stage3 setup to 750 or 850hp. I'm glad that I can visit them with a 45 min drive

Took this Dec 2018

exactly, no headlight washers. Then later they added the headlight washers, just like the side hydraulic filler flap.

The rear quarter flap and latch parts are recycled '72 911 parts (no, seriously - look it up in PET). Take a look at an original '72 911 that has never been painted/restored, and you'll see that the gaps on the filler door are pretty bad, just like the one Byron shot of the prototype 959. When they get restored, they usually get some TLC to the gaps. When I was getting body & paint done on my '72, that was one awkward phone call from the shop. "Uhhh....so the gaps on this oil filler door are really bad...you want us to weld that up to fit better?"

Roar, really great to see you posting again, welcome back.

959 tools

Hi,
I am looking for a complete tool set for my 959, especially the wheel nut (see picture no. 21)!
Please DM if you have (at least) parts of tools.
Thanks!

And it likely cost more than most G body 911s.

Wonder why 8 spark plugs in tool kit and not 6 or 12?
