FWIW - I remember an older LED gauge thread that had a guy with white gauge faces and it was silly bright. Was showing them off big time.
Early_S_Man posts point blank to the guy something like, "What in the hell do you think you are doing to your car? Warren was fun to read when he pounded on people. Worth the time to search on his posts just to read when he went off. I joined here after he passed away I believe. RIP, Warren Hall.

Indeed the Honorable Warren Hall, he is missed
![]() The LED has evolved allot since his "pounding" my gauges are not super bright, just right, at least for my old eyes at night. For the concours guys, the vintage LED's offer the OEM look but just crisper light cast. So far after almost several years, eTarga's LED's has held up with ZERO issues. Jim

I agree - they look right. Not too bright and you can see them no problem. Plus the hue (is that the right word) is appealing/easy on the eyes.

Question
Hello all, I have a 73 tangerine hot-rod with steel RS flairs, 3.0 motor updated suspension and such. Have been trying to decide on etarga's vintage LED color vs his white. Any opinions on from anybody who has tried both options? In the pictures the white LED's look much crisper and more legible VS vintage color but would really appreciate impression from somebody with personal experience. Any guidance would be welcome.

No worries, even the vintage cast sharp light to the gauges, if you want to maintain concours then go vintage color.

Newbe here and have had real nice 944 since 2004. Problem is that instrument cluster is very dim at night. Was thinking of upgrading to the Blue or Red LED lights. How difficult is it to make the upgrade and how much does it cost?
Found this instrument LED Prism for sale on Ebay, but not sure about doing business with them. |

Great Product!
![]() These turned out to be a great upgrade so I can see the dashboard at a glance during nighttime drives. However, be forewarned that little bulbs must be securely set into the sockets. The sockets aren't 100% twist locked with the bulb. You must carefully twist them in and then give them a good tug to see that the socket has properly engaged the bulb. Otherwise they tend to pop out just when you put them back into the gauges. And after that happens more than once you will not want to repeat the arduous and not-too-fun-game of taking those little bulbs out through the long skinny entrance hole with long tweezers!! ![]() PS - if you're careful and have decent finger strength you can grip the gauges and slowly work them out without any tools or damage whatsoever. And does anybody know how to repair the crack in the glass that the PO somehow did? :-) |

Nice, yeah, you need to insure the bulbs seats in properly.
NoHo Speedo, replaced my cracked glass, I think our host sells the glass as well.
