Question Engine Identification

In an effort to save a friends life from his wife, I am now a proud owner of a complete 2.7...but I need help to try and identify it exactly since I am going to sell it so I can pour more $$$ into my 83 Cab . Can anyone help? Also, any ideas how much it's worth? Can assume it needs rebuilding, exhaust in great shape, a few newer parts are visable, the only thing missing is the top of the airbox. Thanks in advance!

On the right side of the fan, at its base should be the engine serial number and engine type number. If you can find the type number, it should be 911/xx. When you find what number XX is, look it up on this chart, compliments of Thom F. who smartly lifted it from Paul Wier's web page after they went tits-up.

If you can't find the type code, post the serial number, and one of us will look it up for you.
