i have to say this is what ticked me off - but more importantly, i would like to appologize pete and everyone in this forum for my ranting last night - i'm most always about support and helping others out and i didn't do such a great job of it last night.

pete, i hope you accept my appology for lashing out.

Groov, of course I accept your apology. If you ever get back to Westchester I'll even have a beer with you. In fact that goes for anybody who wants to grab a beer and talk Porsches or cars in general.

peter thanks - westchester is very special to me - my grandfather was very good friends with tom carvel and he built many of the early self standing carvel stores.
our family has owned store#9 since 1952 and its located near peekskill - i grew up working at the store thru my college years. we also had a bar/resturant on the property which was called "papa bears" - not sure how old you are but if you were in HS during the 70's or 80's it was a big hang out with great bands.

wanted to mention that i experienced very troubling damage to my 83 cabriolet that i owned back in 1999 - i took my wife to portland overnight and parked on the street - our friends place we stayed overnight was right across the st. from the mayors house in NW portland.
i woke up to find someone had kicked the drivers door in about 9" - i could see clearly the sneaker footprint right in the middle of the drivers door. i can't tell you how upsetting it was.

i never park my '59 356 anywhere w/o keeping an eye on it - i wouldn't leave my 911 anywhere either for fear of it being stolen.

there are too many nut jobs/drug addicts who want to damage or steal.

thanks again for accepting my appology.

A little rant, some humor, it's all good.
If it's not entertaining or educational, then what good is it?

I agree that it's too bad the car received a tiny ding but is it really necessary to post it on the forum? Maybe someone should start a new thread to document minor dings and scratches!

Reminds me of this one time a little over a month ago where a guy side swiped me and ran off, and the police did nothing despite me presenting them with witnesses and photos of the car as it sped off.

I suppose hit and runs aren't a crime any more?

The culprit could be the kid with the wagon pictured in another post regarding pictures at Hershey. Gotta love kids with wagons at car shows

No, I don't think so at all. Wagons aren't a problem, I saw those kids, and their parents were very conscientous, and at least that wagon was all plastic. There was also a kid on one of those Razor scooters, scootering between the cars.

I think enough beens said on this topic.

Yup! And driving in the rain on the Bronx River Parkway in a SWB 911 is challenging to say the least, especially when the windows are fogging. But I arrive at my destination with a smile on my face (most of the time).

Pete, I'm so jealous of you getting to drive your 911 everyday, I have my 76' 914 garaged next to the project 75' 911S in Byram and I live in Pleasantville

We should have a local Pelicans meet up for some brews and Porsche chat. We should find a place that has safe parking so we can bring our cars. Any thoughts? There are a couple of places on Anderson Hill Road that have good parking.

Maybe we should create a "Get Together" post

Car damage.

Yesterday while wandering mindlessly through the Porsche Parking area at Hershey you scratched my car and knocked a chip out of the paint. Perhaps it was a camera swinging at your hip. Maybe you were scootering around the lot between the parked cars. Maybe it was your oversized pocketbook or shopping bag. A belt buckle?

Whatever it was, and whomever you are. I'm sure you know who you are. I want to thank you for slinking away like a vandal in the night. I hope you are proud of yourself.

I drive this car to work every day rain or shine and park it in a lot with 50 other cars. Owned by people who couldn't tell a Porsche from a Prius, but I have to come to Hershey to have my car damaged. Ironic isn't it.

Your handywork.

A shot of my car so that you know who I am.
Pete,

Call this guy, he's good at finding people, he'll find the jerk!!

Dude -a car is going to get scratches -you can't do anything about it. I have an 83 911SC that has its share of war wounds. Just go with the flow. It's not like you have a pristine expensive 911 show car

I understand your anger.

Similar thing happened to me last year , but more important.

Some peoples don't care , or are jalous.

That's really sucks on such a beautiful 911.

looks to me like somebody wearing slacks or jeans with metal gussets was resting his stupid ass against your car while having a casual conversation, causing the scratching (which looks to be easily buffed out)....and in the process, one of the gussets caused a chip in the door.

No matter what, I'd be pissed and looking for blood.

Looks like the classic rude door opener scratch. Horizontal part as the door opens and then drops off vertically as car tilts when person loads their a$$ on the seat while holding on to door to steady themselves. Sorry your day got tarnished by this.
