E on Ebay
This looks like it might be a nice one:
It's in the UK but LHD. Not much info, but it looks like it might be a nice car. High starting bid, and no bids so far, plus new Ebay seller, but lovely Viper Green....! Last edited by Saffs; 05-19-2002 at 09:36 AM.. |

Looks nice in the two pictures. And already up to a nice big price.

72E....
If someone is looking for an E, I have one that's not quite nice for 1/2 the US $$. Mine is a 73E, California, S optioned, no rust, AC, sport Recarro seats, 104K miles on the clock. WOW....didn't know these cars were bringing that kind of $$.

I saw and drove the car today; it is a good honest car and drives well. No rust as stated, tight and a good deal based on what we are seeing price-wise. I have not decided whether to dump $ into my SC to lighten and quicken it or get an early car, but this "E" is a good candidate and Curt is a good Porsche guy.

Thanks Saffs............
Yep...that's it. I too was @ Festival of Speed. This event will eventually be one of the premier Porsche events in the world. ( second only to Cambria). There will be more cars here than any Porsche Parade could ever hope for. The event is a complete package: Lots of cars( not in the "car show setting"), venders, swap meet, great road course to drive ( only $20.00), great people.

I almost fell off of my chair until I looked closer and saw that there were still no bidders. I gave up waiting for the pictures to download, but it looks like the trim was blacked out also on the UK model. I've got nothing against blacked out trim (although the bright trim is a little more period), but for that kind of money the car should be pretty close to original. In all honesty, I doubt that he'll get any buyers.
Denis, go ahead and get the "E". You'll love the MFI when you're pulling 7000 RPM. Try to do that in an SC!

I could only see the thumbnail from the back at the top of the listing. The trim looked blacked out there. If it wasn't - then just ignore that part of my email. Based on your picture, I'd still recommend your E as a good opportunity for an SC driver to move up to something more "sporting".

I agree...
...for those whom have not had the pleasure to drive a early car, it's very true.

The horn grill trim and indicator surrounds, etc are blacked out on the green E. (a '73 thing, I think?)
Still looks very very very cool - an awesome colour...
