Ugh. That's a pisser.
I clipped a small deer in a 993 last September. A buddy got hit by a deer in his '87 and another friend hit a deer with her 356 Speedster that same week. Bummer.

Replaced it with a temporary solution.

The car had been experiencing some light hesitation at partial throttle for a while which, after having the valves adjusted, grew to a weird shudder coming off idle to about 2500 - 3000 RPMs. Full throttle, the car was totally fine but it made getting around town annoying because it would lightly buck and hesitate during normal operation.
The ol' Weber book (please note - I was born in '79 and carbs are a bit of a mystery to me) said to clean the idle jets before you mess with anything else. Welp, sure enough, two had small but visible debris in them and now the car feels like someone just installed a new motor. Sometimes the simple victories are the best.

Been searching for an intermittent miss. 3.0L twin plug in my 72. I thought I found it when I found the #3 plug wire loose. The one thing I hate about my Porsche that I've owned for 23 years is attaching the top plug wires to the spark plug. So I replaced the #3 with a new wire. Then I still had an occasional miss. I pulled the coil wires one at a time to locate which set of plugs was the problem. Well after getting a shock from the power wire to the coil that powers the lower plugs I found the culprit. That power wire was loose and after cleaned up that wire and put it back securely into fuse holder she runs smooth again.

Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Finally made the road trip to drop off the 78 SC’s transmission off for overhaul. Turned the drop into an extended road trip with a return route on the coastal roads. Other than all of the construction zones, it was nice.

Took care of a couple mods I've been needing to get done for a while. Bought (and highly recommend) a Schwaben fender roller tool. It's the only one I could find that it actually fit 5x130 hubs. I also installed adjustable bump steer kit from Rebel....beautiful piece of hardware and was an easy install. Next will be re-checking my front end alignment and checking my bump steer setting and effectiveness.

Well, not today, but recently.........
I had to replace the shift coupler in my SC coupe as it had shed all of it's needle bearings! Makes it hard to drive when you have to open the passenger door to go into 3rd or 4th gear! The hardest part was pulling out the driver side seat (Corbeau) with non stock mounting points. Once the seat was out, the rest was pretty easy. Once that was done, I put the car up on the MaxJax lift and checked the lube level in the transaxel. It was full so the plug went back in and all was well. Went on a test drive and was happy with the results.
