It's not a complicated job. Work slowly and deliberately and take lots of pictures as you go (this aids in reassembly!)

the hardest parts that you may encounter are:

1) plopping the fan and alternator out of the fan housing, and
2) plopping the alternator itself out of the fan.

There are tons of threads on replacing your alternator, a proper search with a cold beer will produce fantastic results.

Not a real difficult job, good luck.

P.S.---this is a great opportunity to clean up the fan and housing, just to make the engine compartment a little more presentable.

When I read a manual that listed the project time as something like 4 hours, I was shocked. There are only about 3 things to take apart. It's very simple conceptually. But there are a few small screws/bolts in hard-to-access areas. When you actually start unplugging the (4?) wires to the alternator, remember to label them with different colored tape or something, and write it down or take a pic. It'll help you remember which plug goes where come reassembly time. The only part I didn't do myself was removing the alternator from the fan assembly. I tried the mallet/block of wood technique and it wouldn't budge, so I wound up taking it to my mechanic to press out. Not a big deal, as he was selling me the remanufactured alternator, anyway.

Please disconnect the battery before you start. There red wire on the alt goes to the starter and to the battery.
Hardest part is removing the air deflection plate.
