Concours presentation.
Guys,
I'm after a bit of advice or comment on how to present my car for an upcoming Event. I was asking about the presentation of items such as, tool kit, spare wheel tyre compressor, wheel gloves and plastic bag, Owners manual, original brochures etc. I have seen the tool kit, spare wheel tyre compressor etc displayed in the front trunk with the Owners manual etc displayed on the front passenger seat.... I have also seen the whole lot displayed on a rug/flag set out in front of the car on the ground.... Is there an accepted way to display these items....? Cheers, Geoff.

I can speak to the PCA Zone 8 expectations. This is also how it is typically done at National PCA events.
I am a PCA Judge and I prepare Concours cars for a living. Leave the owners manual(s) and your current registration card in the glove box. Leave your spare wheel in place in the trunk as well as your tool kit and tire inflator. If the judging team wants to judge those items they will ask you to remove them so they may inspect. As far as a more Open Class Concours goes, I have seen the gamut. Tools etc. displayed in the trunk or hatch area of the vehicles as well as out on a blanket or towel in front of the car. I am not sure how the CCCC judging standards work. Some venues also require that you have a fire extinguisher and a wheel chock present for the vehicle. Remember at the PCA Zone level you should only be getting judged on Cleanliness. Not Originality. PCA National events also take into consideration Originality. My $.02, Cooper |

Cooper,
Thanks for your reply. I guess strictly speaking, if a car is presented at a Concours, it should be as it left the Factory and/or Dealer, which in that case, all the items I have described should be stowed in their correct position. I guess I was asking about a "displayed" position for those items, as opposed to the correct "Factory" position..... Cheers, Geoff.

Hi Geoff,
Yep, completely understood. I would do what you think is tasteful. Best of luck at your up coming Concours. Take care, Cooper |
