Electrical problems
I replaced the 10 fuse block on 1980 SC because it was cracked. Before removing any wires, I marked all upper & lower wires. After finishing, everything works except turn signals and there isn't any CDI whine. Starter does work. There is continuity across all fused circuits. Where does the power for CDI unit originate? Any ideas?
Thanks Vince |

I seem to recall that Porsche did not believe in fusing anything that could stop the car in a race situation on the earlier cars, so the CDI will be fed via the ignition switch directly from an unfused connection on your fuse block. Maybe you have a problem with one of the metal links in behind the fuse block?

Did you replace it with an original piece?
There are jumpers built into the original pieces on the back. Installing a good used one upside down would cause trouble too as the jumpers/links wouldn't be oriented correctly.

there are fuses that have one power source feeding one fuse, then it is bridged over to aother fuse. i dont think you can always see the bridge.

I replaced the jumper from 3 fuse panel to fuse panel. Don't believe I installed upside down but will double check.
Thanks for the help Vince |
