Square-weave style carpet (356) for 911
I like the carpet that was found in the Porsche 356. I believe it is called
square-weave style carpet. Does anyone make a carpet kit with this style carpet for a 911? |

I bought squareweave carpet for my '75 911S from Autobahn Interiors. Very nice!
I suspect all of the reputable interior suppliers will provide squareweave carpet for the later cars. I've bought quite a bit from Autos International, and they have been super to deal with. |

Yes they do. Talk to autobahn interiors:
http://www.autobahninteriors.com/ I think Pelican Carries they're standard carpet kits, but for something special like this you might have to go direct. Rich

For the record, my lil' lady (who's some kind of expert in regards to fabric/carpet) says that the 356 square weave style is far superior to anything else Porsche has ever offered. She says the square weave style will far outlast anything else due to how it is constructed.
Therefore, I'm forced to go this route myself or hear about it everyday for the rest of my life.

Drtyler,
Do you happen to have any pictures of the interior of your car that shows the square weave carpet you purchased from autobahn that you can post here? |

Be warned, sometimes square weave has a bit of a wait. I've ordered brown square weave for my '84 from Autobahn, been several weeks, still waiting for the ship from Germany to arrive.

Square Weave Source
About a year ago I had the black knit shag carpet in my '88 Carerra replaced with the gray square weave with a kit from www.classic9leather.com. The installer said it was like working with sheet metal. Great looking results. I had replaced the rear seats with a "luggage dump". I sent a pattern for the horizontal surface and the the classic 9 leather crew made up a precise fitting piece of the square weave for the surface.

Thanks Hoss. Two additional questions would be, have you ever had any problem when the carpet gets wet with smelling badly? I have heard from others that some of the square weave smells terrible when it gets wet. Also, do you have any Pictures of the interior of your car with the square weave to post here? Thanks

Interior Photos
Cannot comment on the wet smell. Not my daily driver so when it rains , it stays in the garage
Only have a couple of photos. I find the door pocket covering very well done. ![]() ![]() |

Lakewell...in Belgium.
www.lakewell.com Received it in 30 days from time of order (with a bunch of other stuff I ordered). Total shipping from Belgium was $125 for a complete interior kit (including vinyl). It varies depending on year and what you want for the back seat area. I'd call Mike or Tony (858-453-2400) for exact price, but figure $900 as a starting point (as of today, late 2016).
