CIS runners were larger as well.

You're speaking about a ROW 76-77 3.0 in all of that, yes? Safe to assume then that the 74-77 2.7 CIS was also a small port motor?

The base 2.7 engine had tiny ports, something like 32mm, while the S had I think 35mm which is also tiny IMO. The MFI 2.7 motors had 36mm ports. Valves are smaller on 2.7 motors too at 46mm for intakes vs SC 3L had 49mm.

Trying not to derail this one too much, sorry Clay!

It is a great setup Clay. And with your linkage and manifolds, easy peezy and reliable.

Can someone please post a link to the infinity products?

Thanks

David

Search for Infinity 506. A bunch of places sell them. Rasant sells the Porsche specific setup if you want a turn-key wiring harness and sensors.

I believe Al Kosmal (X-Faktory) also can supply a drop-in AEM setup. He was very willing to help me dial in my requirements for MS3X...even after I initially ordered MS2.

David, I ordered my AEM system through Al Kosmal..

In fact, that picture on the left, is actually my engine! Al can source the ITBs too...

I bought my infinity 506 from a Nissan tuner place I used to work at. Got a good price on it for the time. If you want to do twin plug, you might want to look at the 8 series models. They have more drivers / coil outputs etc. Cost a bit more too.
I bought AEMs universal harness lead kit and made up my harness from that. It was a very complicated time consuming step but saved some money and allowed me to gain the experience. I had to buy molex crimpers and all the connectors etc. Was so proud of the achievement that I printed and framed my harness diagram on the wall downstairs.

39mm port, correct? If yes, there must be something I'm missing to have Clay's manifolds work on my '79 SC? CCMs site states 38mm port at head..

Clay.0 08-05-2019 08:55 AM

My manifolds are 38mm, i picked a size that would be a one-size fits all. They are easier to open up 1mm than try to make smaller ;)

Perfect. That answers my next question! Thanks Clay, expect an order in the future

Hey Clay, just buttoning things up and not sure about how far open the throttles should be opening. When my pedal is fully depressed, I’m definitely not getting the butterflies fully open, maybe half open? I haven’t yet fired her up and done the adjustments, but wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything obvious, or if it will all be remedied when I run through the adjustment steps. I’ve shortened the rod from the trans housing to the bell housing on top of the motor and that helped a little, bit there’s quite a bit of slop still. All new brass bushings all around.

Thanks again for the awesome kit, can’t wait to hear her howl.
