Just on not telling me they hacked off the engine harness end alone would have been enough to be included here because he absolutely hid that. The engine was **** and expensive parts removed and swapped out. I dont like doing this but it needed to be done.

Have a WTB for a 914-6 rear valence. Guy emails me through the board so that I cannot see his post count, and refers me to his buddy who lives in VA. I email the "buddy" who is very pushy, has only one sketchy pic of the finished product. I ask for more pics and he claims he lost his cell phone. BTW he doesn't live in VA, but OK. Claims to make these repros as a business, but has no pictures of them on cars. Wants me to hurry up and decide so he can figure shipping. That's when the light went on...
I did a search on the board for user "phils07" and got nada.

He told me of a James who had one. Email address Worldpart44@gmail.com although his name is Jim Griffin.
Paid the money via PayPal and he wants more for postage and wont send or send the requested Picture images I asked for until I send more money.
Add this PRICK to the never ending list and dont reply to your Wanted Ads posts if the person has not Posted on the Forum previously.

I was searching for a front grille for a 928, and got a PM from jimgriffin7653 here on the forum. He told me that worldpart44@gmail had what I was looking for.
And sure enough he had, picture and everything. Agreed on $100 and $35 shipping. Then he wanted another $50 for shipping. The grille is 27" x 12" and 2lbs, and fit in a flat USPS or UPS package that cost $20 to ship. He wanted PayPal to "Family and Friends", so I can't get the money back from PayPal...
I never got the grille of course.

How can e stop scammers like jimgriffin7653 here on Pelican? Is his membership here traceable?

I agree regarding Daviddor. I posted a WTB for a snorkel for my 3.2 stock airbox. Spellcheck changed airbox to airbus. I get a PM from Daviddor saying he has a 3.2 airbus snorkel....$150. I ask him to email me a picture and after a while I get a picture of a 3.2 airbox with snorkel. He wants $150 plus shipping from Mansfield, OH. He wants me to send money via "cashapp" I decline and say check only to verified address with ID. He then tries to get me to send via PP. I decline. He sends me a picture of his expired CDL and a selfie of himself. I run a search and see a criminal record. I also notice his join date on Pelican is April 2021. I stopped the transaction at that point. I do not know for sure, but all of the signs were there for a fraudulent transaction. Fellow Pelicans, please be very careful when buying parts. There are crooks everywhere trying to part our money from our wallets.

I just got a reply from "mattmullar" with a join date of the day he messaged me. His reply was "I have one for sale". Just saying, I don't believe in coincidences. Why are there so many potential scammers on this site all of a sudden?
