WTB: Engine please

WTB an engine to replace my now defunct 2.4. Will consider any engine at reasonable cost as long as it does not require a rebuild or lots of $$ to get it working / install into my car. Given budget I cannot be picky but some history would be good.

Reposted as previous post errored.

I have a 69 2.0 with webbers I have been considering selling. When I bought it I was told it had been completly gone through with the exception of the carbs. I have no reason to doubt this as it has all new seals. no linkage or electronics. I can send pics upon request.
Its stored inside warm and dry, shipping from MI could be pricey.

Really want to stay with the 2.4 or larger displacement, but I will bear in mind. No exactly inundated with engines for sale!

Many thanks.

Shippping can be accomplished for around $250. There is a freight company that sort of specialozes in motors, trannys, etc. You can fing them with a search, but I usually search under the name Jake Raby since he ships motors weekly. Four cyl stuff, so you know where to go, right?

John,

Don't really need the trannie as mine is good, what price the 3.0? Any history / mileage / leakdown etc?

Is the engine complete with brain, exhaust etc?

Many thanks,

I've got a 3.6 that is a very strong runner. I'm not responsible for torque addiction you'll get if you install this! See post on page 2 for all info.

Ive got a nice MFI 2.4T motor that I was getting ready to list today. Points replaced with a crane optical trigger (still uses the stock CD box), turbo lower valve covers, new dansk sport muffler, all of the MFI is there and working, new cold start lines. It needs a new high pressure oil hose from the tank to sump since the one on the car needed replacing at the time of the drop. It would plug right into a '72

Compression was even and leakage test was less than 8% on all cylinders a year or so ago when I bought it. I dropped it two weekends ago to rebuild the tensioners (one of them is starting to drag) and have found a 3.2 for it instaed. This is a good solid and complete running motor. I havent done the tensioners yet, but I have the kits sitting here. I also still have the fuel filter cosole and the mfi fuel pump.

search my old posts. every problem Ive had with the car has been documented and fixed through this board. shoot me a PM with a phone number if you want to talk about my motor.

LARennsport - I wish.

Shuie - Any idea of the mileage on the engine? I know used engines are always a gamble but I can't afford to buy an engine and risk being back where I currently am in 6 months time. I think I have to be honest with myself and think about either selling it as a roller or keeping it off road for the foreseeable fuiture and finding an engine later when finances are better.

Good luck with the sale, thanks for your help.

105k on it. rebuild the tensioners and it would be good for many more miles. Used motors are always a gamble though, so I know where you are coming from.

I have a 2.2T that maybe of interest to you. Smaller than you had hoped for but at a price I think you will like. Contact me at barenstam@metrocast.net for all the details
