FS: Targa body braces

We finally have the finished prototype!!

Here are some shots of the bars installed prior to being coated.

Since we do not do the full production in house for these they will be sold slightly differently than out carbon fiber and fiberglass pieces. We will be doing group buys in sets of 5 and the price will be $195 shipped (in the CONUS, outside will be priced accordingly based on location) if paying by check, $203 if using paypal. They will be shipped out via FedEx ground approximately 14 days after we have 5 paid orders. We would like to do it differently but the only way to keep costs down is to have a 5 order minimum per run. I will be updating this thread as orders are placed and shipped so everyone will know where we are in the order process at all times.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask and we look forward to making all you targa owners happier. In the words of Todd, "These bars will complete your life and make you a better overall person."

pm sent.

For those wanting to order feel free to post up in this thread but please also send me a pm. Paypal wreaks havoc on our bookkeeping so we have to invoice each order from our end to avoid a ton of problems.

I would like to order a pair as well but have a question first. It's difficult to tell from the photos - are the ends square with the bolts?

Our bars have been test fitted and fit '74-'89 cars, outside of that range I really can't comment. If your seat belt holes are close to or the same as the SC they should fit. Personally I have never had anything older than my '83.

No, sorry - I mean when bolted in the car are the ends of the braces square with the seat belt bolts. From the picture it appears that the lower attachment point might not be square, but I can't tell for sure.

Gotcha. They are square to the bolt head when installed. That's why there is the slight bend in each of the end pieces.

72 Targa

Is it possible for you to have them checked on pre 73 cars?? I'd be interested in taking a set for my 72 Targa, but want to be sure that they bolt straight on.

Sorry but we don't have a pre-74 targa available for testing.

Might add that when added to a "harness bar" that ties the upper shoulder belt points together, these three bars really stiffen the Targa!

Just to be clear our bars were not designed or tested to be used in conjunction with a harness bar. To safely do this you would need it to be properly engineered and at a minimum longer shoulder bolts would be needed to replace the stock ones. I'm not saying adding the harness bar/brace is or isn't a good idea, just that our product, in it's current version, was not designed to be used in conjunction with anything else.

'73 and older...

... maybe I can help answer the question about '73 and older. If stock, I believe your lap belts attach at the seat rails - not the rocker panels. If you want, you can upgrade to have the receiver (outside) welded into the rocker panel like the '74++. I had mine converted (outside and on the tunnel) because I wanted to be strapped in tied to the chassis and not the seats and those small bolts.

braces

Just wondering on the off chance you might do a set of these to Australia. Look fantastic.

Thankyou ,
Justin.
