Great to see 912E stuff!
Hi! I'm a former 914 owner, a nice '71 and not so nice '72, both 1.7s. They were replaced last spring by an extremely attractive 912E I bought from the third owner, near Portland, OR. I had it shipped to St Louis, then brought it out to the new home in Las Vegas. A stumble on the initial smog test led to a tune-up that got things right, and except for some possible motor mount issues I have really enjoyed the car. Anyway, I am very happy to see 912E posts here. bye for now, Jerry

I tried to upload a few, but they were too large. One more thing to work on. Let me try again.

Yes, original leather. It had fogs, but the third owner replaced the front valence and didn't want to cut holes in it. Can't blame him, I like it slick.
The only thing I have done is install the Prototipo steering wheel. Appearance wise it is exactly what I was wanting, lack of leverage is a bit much, though. Near term plans are to install the pair of Momo seats I bought when I was going to turn one of the 914s into a track car. They may not be the most practical seats, but I wanted to try it. Also, I like the looks of the RS America style door panels, so I will install those along with fresh carpet and remove the rear seats. Those, a new headliner and some sticky tires and I think I would be good to go. I have a pair of new 6 point harnesses, again for the still-born 914 track car. Those will go in in anticipation of some DE events. I spent ten years racing in SCCA (Formula Ford and Improved Touring Nissan Sentra ) but I want to back off a couple of notches and just cruise around the tracks some.

Congrats on the "E" purchase and welcome to the much-maligned 912E owner's world. Prepare to be bashed by the 914 and 911 faithful. I've had mine for going on seven years and I've had something like 20 cars along the way. The 912E has simply always been my favorite for some reason.
If you're used to the handling of a 914, be careful with a 912E and a stock suspension. They came with a teeny front ARB and none in the rear and when set to US ride height they lean like a listing ship at sea. There are a few of us here with 912E in varying states of tune, up to and including Coldbass's wildly well-engineered toy. I've done all kinds of mods to my car and I can say it's a hoot to drive now. I've read in more than one place that 912E ownership is like a cult that no outsider can explain. So, welcome! Enjoy it!
