Slightly improved over the 1.7, it would seem.

MAYBE it can be mounted on the roof.

914 related - I'm looking at a flared '74 2.0 close by this weekend. Apparently needs work, but VERY cheap - 900 bucks.
Anyone interested?

From what I recall, it's the starting-up and shutting-down that is really hard on turbofan engines. So 24*7*365*10 constant use should be well within the capability of a standard jet.

And 3/4 million is only somewhat overpriced for a large turbofan engine. Probably the rest of the money is in the other stuff you have bolted up to the thing--and that you have the jet bolted up to.

Ron Meier's patented "914 Blue Flame Seat Heater and Turbo Booster" produces more power and doesn't require 12,000 Volts @ 394 Amps. It only requires, from what I've read, 3 lbs of beans and some Billy Beer as a catalyst. It is an example of true fusion that works ( opps, wrong thread).

This thread is the consumate example of "perpetual motion" - it will not die!!!!!

Viva la vida!!

There were a few winters like that in the midwest when I was growing up out there.... Did I mention that I don't miss it one tiny bit???

I miss some of the people back there; I miss summer thunderstorms. And that's it.

Dave; That was the second smartest thing I've read from you.
The first was something to do about Toast in a black dress.

Not to just keep this thing going but, Milt are you still reading this and are you still working your a$$ off? I need a window and a friend needs his house retro-fitted ( 17 windows). Give me a call one way or the other. Oh, and I'm up for any ride you plan.

You're right Dave, as long as we keep it running it doesn't have to go through thermal cycles and unstable flow conditions so that makes it easier to keep it alive. We also have a fairly elaborate filtering system to keep it clean, not to mention the dry sump lube system with 1500 gal. capacity.
The entire project which includes the compressor, foundation, motor, expander and gearbox is budgetted at $17.1 million. Like I tell my boss, it's not like it's real money, it's just refinery dollars he doesn't like it when I say that.

I like the old Joon Ree self-defense commercials from DC.

"When you take Joon Ree self-defense, then you too can say! NOBODY BOTHERS ME! NOBODY BOTHERS ME!"
