Alternator pulley
Does the alternator pulley need to be spin balanced on a >6K engine? Is that a cause for reported belt being thrown? Where is a source for a new alternator pulley?
Thanks, L. McC |

You can buy a new pully from any of the Porsche parts houses, or the used parts people.

Misalignment of the pulleys is the usual cause for throwing the belt. The stock setup is just fine well over 6000 RPM if nothing is wrong. |

I've never had a problem throwing belts. Most common problem is the belt is adjusted too loosely, causing it to whip around and finally snap-off.
