intake mods ?
Okay, so I ran my '76 2.0L w/ the airbox off, and I really like the sound and snappy response. Anybody have leads, info, recommendations on air intake mods ? I don't want to go crazy w/ PVC pipe, but I'd like something that's not outrageously expensive, either.
Thx, Jeff |

Look on ebay. There is a kit that is always being advertised with a conical K&N filter that attaches to the throttle body, with nipples for the vacuum lines for about $100

The stock system with a new filter works really well according to dyno tests. The K&N cone filters just let dirt in.
A cold air tube helps some by letting getting fresh cold air from outside the hot engine bay. People have done it several ways and it worth a hp or so.

Okay, Bleyseng, I'll prolly try it your way - stock box plus a clean air filter, unless I get strong recommendations otherwise.

Hey this is kinda scary but I put a K & N filter in my stock box and I swear the thing never gets dirty.

You have to put the filter oil in the filter. Thats what traps the dirt.

The filter is pretty oily to the touch. I put the thing in like 4 years ago. I maybe ran the car 12,000 miles??
It has always puzzled me.

This is just a thought:
If the stock filter gets dirty in about 5K and the K&N filter gets dirty in 25k - doesn't that mean the stock filter is catching more dirt? Vern |

Uh oh....
But if that filter never gets dirty then how do you know dirt is passing through?
