Broken drop link
I have a weltmeister 19mm fr sway bar and have been using it for some time.
While tinkering I noticed that the passenger side drop link had broken at the threaded attachment part to the A-arm, before the U-tab. I am sure the swaybar was set up appropriately and I am wondering if this is something that happens frequently? Also what are my options for replacement? I would like an adjustable one but the only one I know of is the weltmeister are there any others and will they work with the swaybar I have? Kelly |

Unfortunately I have heard of multiple failures of the Weltmeister swaybars. Well, technically the attaching hardware and rod ends (drop links).
You can buy replacement adjustable drop links, but they are like $100/pair I think. You may be able to find the equivalent parts at a good hardware supplier - McMaster-Carr (sp) maybe? My front Welt bar has some upgraded hardware but nevertheless I plan to replace it with a Smart Racing bar ASAP.

My rear weltmeister sway bar broke the bolt between the bar and the drop link. I'm doing suspension upgrading now and will probably end up disconnecting it. I'm going to do some experimenting after it's back on the road/track.
