Two more questions about our 82-924. Can anyone help us out:
The car came without seatbelts (removed by the previous owner for reasons unknown). Will front seatbelts from any year 924 or 944 fix this car? The entire inside floor on this car is/was covered with foil faced sound insulation (kinda like jute carpet pad without the foil). Most of it had gotten damp and had that unpleasant moldy smell. I have removed most of it and have two questions; was this original to the car and is it necessary? My thought is to leave the stuff out as it will attract dampness and maybe always smell. Any thoughts. The work on this car is going well, what an education. We presently have the engine and trans out and are replacing the brake lines (rusted). The gas lines are repaired (also rusted) and the clutch is new. I hope to get the engine back in this weekend and maybe have it running in another week or so. There is a considerable list of smaller things that have been done and many that still need doing but nothing that worries me, all pretty straightforward. Fortunately I am presently unemployed and so have a little time to devote to this. Unfortunately the house needs painting and so my time will be divided between that and other chores that come up. Thanks to everyone for all the help. Jon A. |
