hard to shift...
Our '85 924S is a bit "notchy" to shift
it's only the left-right motion that is hard the front back motion is very smooth (1-2 or 3-4), but upshifting from 2 to 3 or downshifting from 5 to 4 I checked the shifter inside the car. There is some play there because the pin on the shifter is worn a little, but that's not really the problem I tried to check the mechanism on top of the gearbox, but it's a little hard to get to any ideas on where to specifically look to solve this would be much appreciated! cheers, Jeroen |

You need to fix the slop in the shifter first. Then drain and replace the transaxle lube with some good synthetic. Drive it for a while and report back.
