I have power steering again! Question:

So I was putting on the new (used) pump that I received today and noticed that the fitting that connects the hose from the reservoir didn't match the one I had, and that the hose wouldn't bend to properly feed it. Is this an aftermarket fitting?

One I received

One I had prior

As you can see, the one i had comes out and uses a 90 degree angle to feed the hose, the one I received on the pump did not. I changed them out so there's no problem. I'm just curious why there was a difference.

Ah to have power steering again. Been without it since October.

Installed

You need the new hose and get a new reservoir tank-the filter clogs>

Of course you could take off your old fitting and use the old hose.

Wow. The power steering reservoir and the hose have been upgraded? Is the filter in the bottom of the reservoir? I had no idea.

Pelican says that what you're showing me is for 1987-. I have an 86. Have the 86's been upgraded to the new design?

Looks like it fits all through '89

The PS reservoir should be changed if it has not new. The filter clogs.
