Porsche Crest in need of transaxle help

i have a 1984 944 n/a with a bad non lsd transaxle. so my freind has a 1986 non lsd transaxle that he's not using and asked me if it will work on my 1984 n/a. so before i asume is the same please someone tell me if i can use it on my car or not thank you and god bless

Yes, they are interchangeable. The only difference really is the '86 has the electronic speedo sender which can just be left disconnected. Your '84 is run off a cable from the front left hub.
