Bumping an old thread. I've found motivation and am fixing to have a little time. I'll be putting the finishing touches on the red car suspension this weekend so its time to tear this baby apart. I have decided against SPEC. I simply can't afford W2W right now. This will be built full blown Fspec for autocross.

Right now the plans are.
Chassis-
Stripped, lightened, and stiffened. Will remove all the undercoating, cut out things like the spare tire well, add some tubular support and replace a few panels with aluminum. Coil over suspension all around.

Engine-
New Rod bearings, crank scraper, light flywheel/new clutch, possibly a JME cam and an appropriate chip and exhaust.

Well in 2 years about all I've managed to do is scrape half the under coating, and remove the fuel tank to begin the prep for a smaller aluminum one. Now I've decided that it may be time to pass the torch...
