LC2 Kit

Getting my LC2 kit to fine tune my 1980 928 auto, Does anyone know the proper settings for the air/fuel mix on these cars. Is it an engine size thing, climate, location or is there a true setting for all types of stock 928's. Thanks

I remember now. 14.7 is the target you are shooting for. Since Cal Smog requires tailpipe readings and they do the readings at 25 and 35 mph. I figured out what rpm was at 25mph, then I adjusted the a/f mixture screw till I got 14.7 on my gauge at that rpm. I think it was around 2000 or 2500rpm's.

My CIS 928 has been down for awhile now since I need to drop the transaxle, but I do start it right up once or twice every 2 months.

What do you plan on changing to alter the air fuel ratio?

On newer models the technique is sharktuning and burning a new fuel map for the LH brain, which isn't available on early cars.

Early cars you can set it to pass smog, but can't change the fuel maps for other loads and rpm ranges, and you can do that with the standard O2 sensor.

It's more to monitor and is were it's at now. Some thing is a little off right now. The old owner did a bit of wire cutting and removed things that I don't understand. So most of the engine stuff is working as is meant to be but here and there I have to be playing with the idle because she gets thrown off. I want to observe this in the lc1 to see were the hiccup is. air/fuel mix is very important to the life of the engine, performance, and temp. Since my year I can't monitor with OBD2 this is like having other gauge that lets me know shes running good

What you want to see at idle and cruise is the stock narrow band O2 sensor cycling between rich and lean several times a second, but idle RPM variation is almost always an air leak or timing issue.
