Tip swap to 5 speed

Anyone do a coversion from tip to 5 speed. I don't use my car as a daily driver anymore and I'd like to pop in a 5 or 6 speed. Its a 94 C2. The car is really REALLY nice and I don't think I'd be able to find another like it as it took me 7 months to find this one when I was looking!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

When I was looking to buy a 964, I found one that had been converted and the owner said it was a piece of cake. Best part is, you get the OBC in the tach as standard equipment. Bummer part is you have to swap your speedo (and document it) for a 5 speed version. This itself may raise eyebrows in the event you ever sell it.
Hope this helps...

Hmmm, interesting topic.

With the prices of 993's dropping so fast down-under (especially Tiptronics), I may be in the market for one later next year

If I find a good Tiptronic relatively cheap, I'll swap out the Tip for a 5/6 speed manual and Twin Turbo the sucker

hallo
You dont have to change the speedo ,the gearselector just wont work .
i have done this 2 times now and it is not a piece of cake . You have to change a lot of things ,not only the pedals/Shifterconsole/Gearbox .
Also the flywheelsensor,Flywheel( good reason for RS Flywheel ) Clutch,
rearlight switch/cables ,throttleflap ,etc.
You sure spend 4 K on used parts with a 5 Speed and 1-1.5 k more for a 6 Speed .
If you do the Conversion go with the 6 Speed and the RS flywheel .
