Be glad. It's not a fun job and the deadening weighs a LOT.

Bill - This is really looking great! The riviera blue ext and silver blue knit int has to be one of my favorites now. PERFECT on a RS

Bill your interior changes look very good...I am half way into a interior change but am undecided on whether to amke major changes. I have elminated the rear rubber mats and padding and used Quiet Car a water based sound deadner. I used a foil backed carpet pad that is extremely light and reflects heat. I would like to eliminate the rear seat but would like more information on how the carpet fits. Did you use any glue for this or just tacked the carpet? I think the carpet replacement will fit over the new padding without additional backing for depth.

Bill, I found myself in need of somewhere to stash random stuff, especially with my interior. Given that the radio slot is DIN sized, I figured I'd try to fit a DIN sized replacement that a lot of car manufacturers fit to their lower spec models that don't come with radios.

In my case, I managed to make a cubby from my old VW Golf fit. Takes a little bit of cutting and trimming, but it fits very snug. While it doesn't have the rubber mat that OEM Porsche storage compartments come with, the fabric/velour material is pretty adept at keeping stuff from flying out under acceleration.

The VW part number is 1J0 857 058 if this strikes anyone's fancy:

all the carpet and underlayment is glued except the rear shelf area. The 993 has some wiring for brake lights on top of the shelf, to retain access I used a stripped stock shelf base which is screwed down, the shelf carpet is tucked under the rear and sides of the shelf base.

the side carpet doesn't need to be glued as it is held on all sides and top by trim and the seatbelt reels

Hi Bill, one page 2 you show a rs carpet install done on a friends car. Im contemplating to installing any of the center console, my hang up is how to deal with the shifter boot and the ebalrake handle. Your friend has half the answer I need. Any chance you know he did it?

The console was a cut down original, which he recovered, He is a whiz at this, check out the PP seats. The brake is probably a custom cover he made. I'll ask next time I talk w/ him.

I finished my carpet and my dash but would still like to eliminate the console, too big and ugly, but where will the flashers and other stuff go? The revision looks good but what did he relocate?

I relocated the switches to the radio panel I purchased from Rennline. Then I removed all of the brackets for mounting the center console. I have not made a new shifter or ebrake boot yet

JHQ that is very clean but I want to keep the radio. I was contemplating reusing the cigarette light and blank spot on the dash for two switches but I looks like it would require drilling. Your panel looks good where did you get the switches?
