Another 930 on BAT Thoughts....?
Quote:
Supposedly seller is producing the estimates for the repair. States no real damage occurred. Apparently cardboard placed under the engine while hot caught fire but didn’t cause any real damage.. Not a smart or attentive owner. With a FIRE and needing MAINTENANCE also locate in CANADA this will be interesting to watch.. It’s in very nice condition. It is a CALIFORNIA 930 with california plates. Apparently all that was replaced was tires one CV boot and a brake line even though only one tire needed replacing. I’m guessing 40% reduction in final price. |

At least as of 2007.. Looks to have all california emissions installed as of 2007!!! A low mileage, California Porsche 930 turbo, sold by Californiaclassix.com! |

Is this 930 not unbelievably original and nice in the pictures from 2007??? It’s only been driven 5000 miles since 2007.. This 930 is a opportunity not to be missed. I don’t believe there will be much bidding action as most of those bidders would not know a nice 930 if it ran them over. They in large don’t even know what to look for let alone to recognize the condition of a nice original 930 would look like. 1979 930, california 930, emissions still intact most likely!!! |

So your saying as nice as this 79 930 was in 07 you wouldn’t buy it because of the dealer? I mean look at the pictures from 07. This 930 ticks every box TWICE! California 930 79 Original condition Still most likely has its california emissions Sold new in santa clara california Original california plates They really don’t get any nicer than that. Baring the unfortunate incident.. We also have to remember these 79 930s are now 40 years old.. Some things are bound to happen over that span of time. Heck most vintage ferraris burn to the ground twice in that amount of time lol.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
so go buy it already. do your part to help keep the values up in the 930 marketplace.

Say what you will the 930 can’t help what seller it’s sold by.
Just because the seller has this 930 doesn’t make this 930 bad by default.. This is probably the nicest early 3.3 I’ve seen on BaT.. If this 930 is still in the condition below.. IT IS THE NICEST 79 930 ever offered on BaT and in the upper echelons of all original unrestored 79 930s period. http://www.californiaclassix.com/archive/79_Porsche_930_c430.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

79, 79, 79, blah, blah, blah. There is absolutely nothing special about this particular MY year, expanding one’s horizons could do wonders.

Forget my knowledge on the previous seller. Car had a fire and I guarantee you there was more than $2000 worth of damage as that’s literally impossible. Multiple panels have been resprayed. Cork is gross in my opinion. Why are you so worked up over this car?

Ugg.. This is the most uninformed statement you’ve made yet... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Can you not see this 930 is all original? Little things like the underneath and condition of little things like brake lines, oil cooler lines, suspension components. It still has its rubber gaskets under the snorkel headlight washers.. If it still has its california emissions this is paramount! Only very few early will still have this in place. The fact you would admire the CA Emissions and view that as a positive proves you really only want something to wax. Other than your current toy. There has to be a better forum for you with like minded individuals. I suggest you PM M.I.B. and get the details. From what I've been told there is a whole group of them that set and make fun of us while drinking Scotch and smoking cigars. |
I feel like I'm watching Donald Trump tell California firefighters that they need to sweep their bushes.
