Not dead. Still ruminating. Gotta say that a 981 GTS feels like a nice option.

I really enjoy my 981 GTS. With a set of headers and a tune they are even more enjoyable but no slouch out of the box.

Aaaaand the OP is back!
First step completed. Sold the Cayman. Now it’s time determine market value for my 964. Prices are all over the map. Drove a GT4 recently and was very very smitten. Seems prices have crept up a bit—most seem to be in the high 80s. |
FWIW, I’m cross-shopping 996 GT3’s and 2016 GT4’s right now... in that price range. Looking for a car I can drive daily (I don’t drive very much on the street), AX and TT a few times a year.
One’s (potentially) and appreciating classic (GT3), and one’s a (probably) depreciating great driving car/tracker (GT4)... First world problems! |

You try a TT? |
I am in the same boat I wanted a 996/996 GT3 or GT4 for some street driving, autox and lapping days/HPDE etc.
GT4 is now really great value and higher performance than both 996/997 GT3. Newer tech and nice interior. I would have a tough time going 997 GT3 now when a newer lower mileage GT4 can be had for less. It will be further down the road for me when my kids are grown and no longer need back seats. Hopefully electric cars haven't taken over by that time. |

Don’t forget to set aside money to repair the GT4 tub when the strut mounts rip out on track.
