The 89 G50 won’t pass emissions in any Tier 1 county so that and a few other bits will keep it priced lower than most good examples.

A no sale means nothing. Until a car actually sells you can’t say what a car is worth.

HMMM at least were now back to a real marketplace discussion.
We'll see where she lands soon. I think anything below mid 30's is quite low compared to just a year ago.

A no sale means something. It tells you what the car was worth to a ready, willing and able buyer at that point in time. It IS an indicator of the current market.

17 Hours is more than twice the time that was left on this one And look what happened with it. Until a car sells it’s all speculation.

A no sale just means the seller's reserve was above what the car is worth. Nobody bid above $28K = nobody thinks it's worth more than $28K = it's worth $28K.

An really the number is closer to $30K when including the bat fee.

I’ve run cars at auction and had rnm, and then run it again and hit a home run. Auctions can be finicky. Though if the market was hot in the way it was 2 years ago, every BaT auction would end in a sale.

A no sale is not a definitive on what a car is worth but it is indicative of what it's worth. If you go through completed auctions you can get a real sense of where the market is on where cars stall out. Lots of stalling right now with people trying to get two years ago prices. My cars have been selling but at much lower numbers.

Pointing to the high bid on BAT even 30 minutes before the end means nothing, much less 17 hours. It doesn't seem that uncommon for bids to jump $10-20k in the last 10-30 minutes.

Yeah and not that all that uncommon for a car not even get another bid or two. Anything can happen, after all it is an auction. The 89 would need to go another 10-20k today to get back to the prices 2-3 years ago and that was why I pointed at it. I mostly pointed at it though to get the discussion back on track and that right there was something.
We'll see where it lands.

The market has cooled.....

I'm trying to sell my 86 slick top for what I have in it, many nibbles but no bites. Fully serviced (AC works), sorted, conservative performance updates (SW chip, bypass and Turbo brakes) with minor cosmetic needs..... it is a step right in and drive......

Well, for me $35-45K for a questionable mileage car with potentially lots of paint work, a moded engine with no viewable records other than the reseal, unclear history regarding DE/track, a roll cage or something installed an removed with no pics, distant pics of the undercarriage, no original steering wheel, until recently no discussion regarding mileage verification, funky rear bumper, poor seams around rear, wonky driver side tail light. And other expensive trim pieces... I can go on forever.

A “no questions” 66K car in good condition would be photographed and described in outstanding detail if it were the real deal. This one is a pig in lipstick. My Spidy senses are telling me there is much to be discovered.

That said, if it goes for 35-45K, I think it is in line with a few years ago.

Try $45K. Might have more luck.

I see this all the time with real estate. I spent $30K on landscaping so my house is now worth $30K more right? Nope. It's at best worth $0 and at worst, worth negative $10K. You may think it's the most beautiful backyard ever created. But to the average buyer it's a bunch plants that take away usable yard space, may cause allergies and will be a real pain in the ass to mow around.

Same concept applies to cars and mods.

Mac does not need a lesson.
He was making a general comment on prices cooling using his own car.
