Ha! Try and beat one on the track.
In racing it’s about the next step and best path to Pro level. Miata racing has factory support and a teen challenge series. I’d put him in wheelbarrow racing if it were the way to go.

Sorry Deez, I thought you were in the driver's seat. Sounds like you have a son driver, so understand now. Also I get you on cost to return ratio via racing. I have never owned one or even touched one. I'm like Shultz on Hogan's Heros i.e. I know nothing -- about them!
Incidentally, I might have an old contact that might be useful? AUS/JAP or Mazda Speed. Same person, Steve Thatcher in Sydney Australia. He rented a room in my house 99- 2001. He was the biggest used parts supplier to AUS then @ 70 containers a year. He had to vacate due to economic reasons then e.g. Kyoto protocol and recessionary factors. He still does containers out of Nagano Prefecture to this day.
Back then I stayed at his house on a trip, met his customers in AUS. He was well into those Miata cars then, I don't know about now. I haven't spoken to him in years! Still have his number though. Even after he left I sent him a couple Porsche 911 and an Evo Lancer 5 which they raced in Tasmania, not to mention all the gems he got while living here. I would say he's getting older now, so don't know what he's up to. Not that I care. He was dead into those Miata though, and if he still is, he would have some good info or contacts still that might be of benefit. Check out those names if you want. If you need me in Japan for parts I can always try in time of need. At the moment, I know Nothing!
