Basically Ronnie is saying in his old age he requires automotive Viagra. Thoughts and prayers, brother.

Rawknees'Turbo 11-10-2019 04:16 PM

I won't start to worry unless the automotive Blue Bombers begin to lose effectiveness!!! But then again, that will mean that I just need to add more powwaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!

Go electric young man.

NYNick 11-10-2019 04:35 PM

In NY we say:

"I got ya Blue Bombahs right 'ere, Rawknees!"

Rawknees'Turbo 11-10-2019 04:40 PM

NastyNick, is the bluing you're experiencing, "right 'ere", age related?!?!

pNutz, I've never ridden in, much less driven, a high HP electric car, but have seen a Tesla going ballz out down a small runway and was shocked by the speed. I think I might be a convert if I ever do ride in something like that (would just need to add a bunch of body mods to make it look cool).

pmax 11-10-2019 04:47 PM

Raw', the electric stuff will jerk  your loose or loosely connected parts around like a rag doll. It's no fun sitting in one as your coworker shows off the "ludicrous" mode in his lowly Model 3 !

That's just me but perhaps you would enjoy that kinda stuff :D

Rawknees'Turbo 11-10-2019 05:12 PM

Nutz, the Mighty Meatlocker Turbo does a nice job of jerking one's parts to and fro; now you know why I like it so much!!!

JMS935 11-10-2019 05:18 PM

Well said Rawknees. If it doesn’t have the “oh sh|t!” factor, it’s just a P.O.S.

Just wait until there is an assortment of mainstream electric motorcycles.

I sold the lightweight 73 Viper Green RSR clone(ish) w a 3.6 recently (170k) and watch BaT a lot. My 2 cents and that's all it's worth is.

Location ( if it was a u.s. car then provide documentation to show the buyer could save on the duty)
2.5 is small
Pics could have been better
Need to tell a story as why you made the build choices

That 69 w the 3.3 was gorgeous. The paint was 50 K and it was a classy build. The other car was the Magnus walker thing. Nice motor and beautiful 10k sports seats. It had all the right names working on it...

Again this is all just my 2 cents. The market is fickle so you have to really get everything right to get good money on BaT

It's not even sports cars. My wife's e400 is a 5 second 0-60 car. And thing weighs in the 4000 lb range My full size pickup is just over 6 seconds, which beats an SC or Carerra (but granted with 178% less visceral-ness). That's what consumers expect now from regular vehicles on the road.

Sports cars need to be in the 3s for any sort of wow factor, and justify $150K price tags.

Hey Raw,

Isn't this not exciting enough for ya ?

Looks like a bunch of Shriners doing parade laps, pNutz!

Rey, it would be interesting to see if I found a Tesla boring, too - seeing up close how hard a new one accelerated (would have blown my car away) really got my attention.

Vaive, true that, but I guess I was thinking about vintage machines when I made the minimum 300hp statement (that is small potatoes by modern standards, especially for sports cars) - 300 and above is where an air cooled 911 really hauls ass, and is not overly difficult or expensive to do via turbocharging (as long as torque levels are kept in the relative save zone for the 915 gearboxes, and best practices with regard to ignition timing, fueling, boost levels/pressures relative to static compression, etc, are followed . . . gets expensive in a hurry otherwise).

M2, it will be interesting to see electric bike development, for sure - a lot of potential for warp speeds there!

When you say the 69 3.3 was gorgeous I find that a bit odd. The interior was off and the under body was tired, engine bay was sloppy(though thats an easy fix). It looked like a road car that was 40+ years old. Albeit from a dry climate. Do people not care about that type of thing? I will say the paint looked great and presented very nicely. Spec of that car was top notch. In regards to pricing I should mention that the 69 went to 110k RNM but it was clear that it was shell bidding as one bidder kept upping the price in large numbers. RNM auctions are hard to determine value as they can be "fluffed".

For your averaged person who could care less about cars a Tesla may be a good choice as long as they have a way to charge it but as an enthusiast of automobiles it did nothing for me other than being fast. Fast is not everything for me. Imo it had no character, not my cup of tea....your experience may be different though so I say go get a drive in one....btw I thought texass was about big trucks and cowboy boots...would you have to turn in your man card if you bought a Tesla?...lol

Always amusing when the "tolerance, diversity and respect everyone" crowd doesn't tolerate any diversity of thought and respects nobody but themselves.

Teslas are for San Jose soy-boy virtue signalling . Real men buy one of these if they want to go Electric.

I know that car and have driven it. Interior is beautiful aside from the dash trim insert. The bottom wasn't tarted up but it was clean and had all the right components done by people that know how to set up a longhood. That car was a blast to drive. Shill bidding? Ha, it sold to the high bidder whom made several high bids in big increments. Some people have money and see 500 increases as a waste. The buyer of my 73 did the same thing, increasing by 5k each bid. I'd suggest not making blanket statements about shill bidders as it just undermines the whole auction process. The world's not a conspiracy if you don't sell your car...
