I hear that a lot, until it comes time for that guy to sell something, than he becomes an instant capitalist wanting today's top dollar.

Adam,
Ha ha, true! All I know is, I drive a $4,000 dollar car differently than I drive a $40,000 car
(or a $400,000 car for that matter!)

I don’t get it. Rihanna has made a career out of rhythmic yelling. She’s terrible.

What is a 70 / 71 T coupe worth these days?
Driver without significant rot?

I’ve been keeping my eye out and there seems to be a blurring still between cars needing resto and cars that are okay drivers.

I’ve seen a few together T’s in the $70s a couple in the mid $60s and a few I think might be resto projects tarted up as drivers in the $50s.

Is this about right? Am I just looking in the wrong places?

Decent 912s (non E) seem to start around $35k. I’d really like a longhood in my garage at some point to keep Matt’s 3.2 company.

I think it depends on how patient you are. You should be able to find a driver that will eventually need work in 40s. You can find nice projects in the 30s.

I've seen plenty of nice 993 cabs with fairly low miles, 40's to 70's around for cheap cheap prices compared to a couple years ago.

Thanks MAH77
I think I will have to improve my ‘google fu’ to find something that’s not still speculative in its pricing.

I'm asking the same question. As you see from my sig, I've got a 72 that needs a little TLC if you want, or full on restore. I'm not doing the latter.
And I love to have a SWB 912 in my garage but I don't see that happening owning its big brother.

That post is 2 months old and if it hasn't sold yet, it's worth checking out. Me, I'm not a Targa fan.

Matt Monson 03-10-2020 05:32 AM

A pink super Carrera targa sitting at 30k. The market is dead.

Targas aren't hot sellers except where they can be used year round. This one is doubly damned by the color combination. Face it, markets are good for good cars. This ain't it.

You’re not a regular around here. My comment was mocking the whole thread and it’s premise. And the guys who post single weird cars as market makers, when they are actually market outliers. ;)

sithot 03-10-2020 06:58 AM

I get it but this one would still be a bust if it had half the miles on it.

Exactly my point. And who TF calls them Super Carreras? It’s an SC!!!

I prefer Carrera Supreme(like a regular Carrera but with cheese and sour cream). I don’t know why you are mocking the thread and it’s premise, as the highly lauded economic genius Shuggy Boogie pointed out demand is going to zero and in 10,000yrs no one will want these cars.

That’s the French name for them.
