Cheap 930
Really is amazing the attrition rate for 930s
I means it's extremely high for a Porsche. I'm guessing the cost of maintenance was part of the reason. The other was how many cars were gutted and turned in to track dogs. They were simply neglected, gutted into track dogs or left to rust away.

Also because they were never all that special until about 2013 when suddenly everyone agreed at the same time that they were legendary icons they had secretly always dreamed of owning.

Screw, Squirell, whatever your name is, it is a idiotic statement to say a 930 or turbo car was never all that special from that era. Yes I own one and do not think it is the Holy Grail of cars. C'mon, this site has a forum dedicated to them, hundreds of articles over the years. It was the super car of the day, a very iconic car. Price wise, like all P cars of that era, had a serious run up, but things seemed to have leveled back down, and quiet a bit higher than where that run up started. Nice old school turbos will always be special. "never all that special" Tool. |

So, that's the RARE 930 2-door Coupe? As opposed to the very rare 4-door Coupe?

He's pissed because he cannot have a back yard full of air cooled 911s in various conditions of disrepair. Seems most people that complain about air cooled 911s much late but rightful rise in value are those who serial hoard all things air cooled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not saying you aren't right about pricing leveling off. They needed to after a 300% increase. But on eBay prices are higher than ever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And the less said about 930xx's hilarious market "insight" the better. And for the record I have virtually no interest in owning a 930. Last edited by Skwerl; 11-12-2016 at 06:07 PM.. |

Your definition of "obsessing" is funny.
I'm much more interested in 964 Turbos and 993TTs, if you want to try again with an ineffectual burn on that topic. Last edited by Skwerl; 11-12-2016 at 06:39 PM.. |

Just my opinion, I think the nice drivers have settled into a 70K-85K range. quiet a nice range. It really comes down to what someone wants and are willing to pay. I am all for capitalism and profit, but believe some of these unscrupulous flippers and dealers ran the price up on these cars and let greed take over. I would like to believe there is quiet a few 930's sitting because they were purchased too high. |

And the fact that many sold for $30k not all that long ago is exactly the point I was making - name another highly regarded legend and icon, sought after and respected by collectors around the world, that regularly sells for $30k. And that's not even counting other aircooleds that practically went for pennies. The reason? My apparently *highly* controversial hot-take is that it's because demand was lower. Today's (and 2015's) higher prices are due to new demand from the moneyed collector set, which materialized quickly and IMO was fueled by evolving groupthink. And turbo owner, your conniption over some nobody on an inconsequential enthusiast forum having a different opinion from you sure says a lot. ![]() Last edited by Skwerl; 11-13-2016 at 11:00 AM.. |

Two different things a play here, Two different markets. For NA 911s/S/SC/Carrera I think it's as simple as these air cooled 911s are the finest, purest, aesthetically perfect, porsche that will ever be. For the 930 I think the 930 were always going to become highly collectible due to that fact they were elite status in the supercar world. The original group included ( poster cars ) Lamborghini Countach Ferrari 512 bbi De Thomaso Pantera And later included the Testarossa. The 930 could out accelerate them all and nearly as high top speed. I think this original group of super cars are league to themselves. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

And just think, they are much better cars when performance modified - chock full of suck in stock trim! Hard to believe some people foolishly pay more for lesser, stock examples - straight up dumba, right there! Last edited by Rawknees'Turbo; 11-13-2016 at 11:29 PM.. |
