Matt Yeah I hear you on never any engine work.

Many claim they are good for 300 k miles. This one was never raced. I bought it in 2014 because of all the highway miles. In fact I sold my sc with 130 k miles because this one just drove better being Daily driven and maintained Religiously. The some of all the new parts made it a better car.
Matt your probably familiar with Eisenbud’s. Last time he drove it he stated everything was perfect except the change in the ashtray.

Well I guess another question is what is the car worth?

Yep, when I was looking for my 911 10 years ago, they had to pass a “look” test before I would drive them. Decent paint and body work is very expensive.

I looked at many cars with stacks of records that didn’t pass the look test. I think on higher mile somewhat common air cooled cars it’s not that big of a deal to have few records if the car drives out nice. For a rare car with a picky buyer it’s probably a necessity. I also drove a few G50 cars, including 964’s, but was not too impressed - definitely too much hype (had to throw that in).

For what it’s worth, I try to keep records of the little stuff I do. Records for big items like major engine and transmission work add quite a bit of value knowing the cost of such things, but it’s hard to quantify, maybe 50% of the anticipated cost?

It amazes me that scanned records aren't the norm with Porsches. It's quite easy to get a cheap scanner and make one big PDF out of everything you have.

That's easy enough to change and alter. Original will always be better than a "copy".

It’s still a way better backup than nothing and paper records aren’t exactly 100% secure.

Check out AUTOsist. It’s a nice platform for maintenance records. If a seller wants to fleece you with bogus records, they will on paper or digital.

I have recent repair records for a top end at a quality shop. One of the managers at a high end Porsche restoration shop told me to call Hagerty and raise the car value $10,000. I called Hagerty and they absolutely agreed. Records are a good thing.
