What’s my 911 worth?

I’ll make it short and sweet. I’m getting married in January and possibly moving away and starting school. I am entertaining the idea of selling my 79 targa sc. The only problem, I have no idea how much it would be worth. Looking for some of your opinions from today’s market.
-1979 911 targa Sc.
- Grand Prix white (respray)
-ssi exchangers and dansk exhaust
- redone interior ( but have entire Oem interior to sell with)
-139xxx miles
-clean title

Nice targa and as long as it’s as described I’d put it in the high 30k-low 40k range.

If you are patient and have the time you could probably get 40k via Bring a Trailer.

In so. Cal, bone stock, no crash damage, w/tasteful up-grades (as they say). Low to mid-40's.

Thank you everyone! Gives me a great idea. I wish I didn’t have to but there are so many variables with The wedding and moving away, I hope it doesn’t come to it but preparing

I can barely remember either of my weddings, although there may have been a little alcohol involved in both.

But I clearly remember each and every Porsche I've ever owned. Just sayin'.

Me too! Been married twice, never had a weeding either time or paid for one, but I do relish the memory of all the 911 girls I've loved before including the 2 I still have! Still celebrate with alcohol on a daily basis too. Just finishing off my last glass of red and now off to bed!

I remember my one and only wedding like it was yesterday.

I’ve had more 911s than I have fingers to count them. Some are more memorable than others, but they are just cars and I’ve never loved a single one of them.

Yeah this, definitely. Looks like a nice clean car. Love the silver bar on an SC, was that an option from the factory or was it redone like that?

Common on 78-79. The transition to black was gradual.

Short of you being in some kind of financial crunch with the upcoming wedding and school, I’d keep it. Looks like a real gem. I once sold a classic vette because I thought I had to, as my wife was expecting our first child. Stupid mistake. Guess what, nine children later, I’ve owned another classic vette, a Karman Ghia, and four different Porsches. Don’t let marriage and kids deter you from your big boy toys.

I love how everyone is giving him life advice instead of answering the actual value question. :roll eyes:

Wedding pics plastered all over the living room wall too I bet. That's normal so good on you!

Count on Bernie to piss all over a guy’s thread with his personal attacks and vendetta against me…

Now don't try and smear a good man with a little humor who did not attack you. I said good on you! That means you have done well! The OP is thinking of marriage relative to his 911. Don't make it personal or stir up trouble at his expense or that of his thread. You were the one drumming up the wedding, or the memory of it, like it was yesterday.

Furthermore, IMO the Op's car is worth an easy 50k. It is clean and tidy and someone will pay that for it

Nobody for a second reads your rubbish for anything other than what it is, an attempt to incite me and get a response. It’s constant with you, even in conversations where I’m not even involved. You’re like a jilted lover who just can’t let go, and wants attention, any attention whether nice or nasty. It’s sad.

You and Nasty Nick come in here thumbing your nose at marriage on the eve of this guy’s nuptials claiming marriage doesn’t last. Maybe the failing is in the man, and not the wife, in these instances? I reiterate, he asked for comments on his car, not his life.

No he didn't, but you made it your life. Everything on anything has to be about you. Why? No one here was down grading marriage including Nick. I will now bow out of this thread out of respect for the OP. By the way, we are all happily married. I have an honorable Japanese wife -- wouldn't trade her for the world!
