I think selling it for 4x would be a big waste, it'd get flipped three times before it's full retail. If I could swing 4xk bucks I'd buy it myself and I don't even want an SC coupe.

I PM’d the seller in hopes of getting lucky but I’m sure there’s a line ahead of me.

Best of luck getting it figured out and done so smoothly. Lots of options, just depends on if the focus is squeezing out $’s (BaT, also the most effort) or just finding an enthusiast/Pelican/PCA who would be a great caretaker for a special vehicle who is happy to pay a fair price (ahem…hint, hint).

If you want to get the most money out of the car, BaT is more than likely the best choice by a pretty wide margin.

Unless you really understand what it takes to maximize what the SC will sell for, consider finding a reputable dealer to consign the car with. Make sure they are familiar with selling on online auctions and have a proven track record.

Doing this will more than likely net you more than trying it on your own. Making the right choices on where to spend on repairs, how the car gets prepped and detailed, the quality of the photography, videos and how the seller responds to questions are all very important to the car doing well.

Trying to sell via a forum or an online ad vs the above, could result in your pocketbook being $20-30k lighter.

For this car and given the sellers location , I would take directly to 911R for sale on BAT. They will prepare the car, take pictures, and field all the questions. No hassle.

I would think dealing with all the idiots and people who ask a million questions but never bid would be half the fun of a BAT auction.

Ha, just saw this comment, Kelly. It would not surprise me if this car were on BaT and someone asked if the IMS was 'done.' Because that's how the Peanut Gallery rolls.

or when the idiots in the BAT Peanut Gallery ask "does it have hydraulic tensioners" or "does it have a pop off valve" .......on a forty to fifty $K original car like this they're gonna worry about the expense of installing a pop off valve??? ... or consider the owner "neglectful" or uninformed cuz he didn't install one ??? cuz its one of the two things they've "learned" following the typical air cooled BAT 911 questions.

I think many of those are folks who are newer to the marque and have done a little bit of BAT or Internet research. Back when these cars were 15k it may have mattered, but yeah a couple grand or so on a 50-100k car is nothing. The reality is plan on a few to many thousands to baseline and sort a solid car to know everything is right.

That said, 2003 tires and professional photos that polish a turd drive me nuts. The former may be a sign of neglect and the later is unfortunately the new world of used car sales.

Yes those are sport seats...the very desirable early tombstones made from 1974-1980. They were optional in the 930s so people pay up for them.
