Larry Demetro, World Wide CXlassic
Does any one have experience with Larry Demetro at World Wide Classics in Severn, MD? Someone told him that I have some classic German cars. He kept calling me, and I eventually sent him some pic's of a 1973 911T Targa project that I said I might sell. He wore me out until he came to my original price. He then wanted to wire me the money immediately. He also wanted to know about ALL the German classics that I own.
I set up a separate account to receive the wire transfer. Now he says "I am working with a buyer who hasn't fully committed". Any similar experiences? Caveat Emptor with "Fast Larry" |

He’s trying to flip it, and won’t pay until he’s sure it’s sold. It’s a common game.

Probably one of the DC crowd of picture flippers, none of them have any money, they just take your price and your car, and try and make some quick in between money.
I blow them all off when I have a car for sale, tell them to buy it where I have it advertised, ebay or BAT, bid to win or click buy it now, it can be yours I tell them. We all know a serious buyer will jump through some hoops, a picture flipper without any money can't and won't do a deal on your terms. Here is a recent text thread with one of these guys, this was after he tried to buy one of my cars, when that didn't work he tried selling me some of his, except they weren't actually his. But he does spell out how they do business. ---Adam ![]()

Idiot Larry called me again today. He has a motor mouth that just won't quit. You can tell that he's lying because he is talking. This sack of organic fertilizer will say or do ANYTHING to cheat you out of your car. Lyin' Larry even got a $20k PPP loan (forgiven, of course) because scamming people was more difficult during COVID.

This should really be illegal, it’s definitely a form of fraud due to the deception involved. There is no way you can properly represent the sale of an item you don’t own and have first hand knowledge of. I would definitely feel like I’ve been scammed if I found out after the fact that I bought a car from a middle man picture flipper.

Larry the Fraud
Hi,
i came across this forum while trying to do a background check on a prospective tenant for one of my properties. This Larry guy you mentioned matched to the T. This fraud called and spoke as "Larry Demetro" , showed up to see the property and introduced as "steve demetro". Same motor mouth, tall claims, on how much money he has etc. also he would not provide any W2s or Paystubs as a proof of his income. giving the lame excuse that they are packed up in boxes lol. he is a piece of work for sure. i am glad i came across this thread. also, he mentioned he liked the garage space aass he has 2 classic RRs, on inquiring what year are his classic RRs.... 2017 Ghost and 2019 Phantom. i am going to leave it at that. there is a lot more to this story as well., |

That's the guy and his GYPsy family. They are known real estate frauds as well. I am SO happy that my post saved someone a MAJOR headache.
Is this the light net? (vs the "dark net"). |

Lyin' Larry called me again yesterday with his "canned" spiel. He doesn't remember or care that I told him to go F' himself after running me around and trying to sell MY car as HIS.
Lying Larry Demetro, the PICTURE FLIPPER!! Caveat Emptor!! |

I googled Steve Demetro, Severn MD. The news says he left a liquor store in a pickup, hit a pedestrian, and then left the scene. When the authorities caught up to him a few days later, he had sold the truck on CraigsList. Sounds like something Larry/Steve might do.

Now that I know this guy masquerades as Steve I'm pretty certain he came and looked at (and subsequently lowballed me) on a 69 912 I was selling about 8-9 years ago. Total clown.

Next time he calls I'll ask "Steve" if he's had any "hits" on his black Dodge Dakota!

Lyin' Larry called me again today with his canned classic car buying shpiel. When I called him out on his picture flipping and real estate squatting, he let loose with a string of obscenities. He did NOT "deny the charges". I said "the truth hurts, Larry". Round 2 of obscene epithets poured forth.
CAVEAT EMPTOR, BABY! Anybody want to call him and "play seller"? His #: 443-467-1053. Please give Lyin' Larry a call. String him along with your "classic Porsche collection" that you have to liquidate immediately for WAY below market. We can have a ton of fun with this picture flipping time waster!! Call NOW! 443-467-1053!!! Last edited by touringmandan; 12-01-2023 at 08:32 AM.. |

Man, I know we've all gone back and chased an old lead but how hard up to you have to be to call someone back who has openly clowned you? Poor Larry, times must be hard on the boulevard!

Larry the lying loser lives. He called me AGAIN today with the same exact "boiler room" scripted approach. Should I tell him about the '58 718 Berg Spyder "with competition history" that my old grandad has in his basement? Like Larry would even know what that is.

He must have dementia , since he can’t seem to grasp the idea of getting lost.
