But hasn't it always been this way, even James Dean had to beg to get a 550 Spyder. Or can you imagine if you wanted a 906 and weren't royalty?
The very few have always gotten the hottest cars, this is nothing new.
What you have to know about certain cars that manufacturers make are not for mass consumption. The same way the dress you see at the Yves St. Laurent runway show isn't for purchase, but you can buy a lesser copy a year later at the mall.

Yep, it’s a tale as old as sports cars. Either the dealer will make that markup, or it will be made in the resale market. I worked for a broker in the early 90s. I remember one day the owner made a deal on an F40 allocation. The car wasn’t even scheduled to be made for another two years. He bought it for $750k and sold it a few hours later for $1.25 M. It’s just how it is.

"Get it how ya live"

Owning one of these cars is possible, just have to know the game and/or pay to play.

I will own one.... Dakar, GT3 Touring, Turbo S don't know which one, I do know it will be a PDK.

I just hate being taken advantage of and paying more for a car than I BELIEVE it should be worth, to people I consider Pirates.

Its not that I do not understand, recently I purchased a 356B in which I also knowingly and emotionally paid a BaT premium.

Well said!

Turbo S is pretty easy to get at MSRP and if you Euro delivery the 2025 can be ready by end of March.

This^

I've been *****in' about this since Moby Dick was a minnow. Just because "that's the way it is" doesn't mean it's right or that I have to put up with it. I'll let the other people chase the "newest and best" at a premium. Always have, always will.

Don’t know if you’ve followed the GT4s on BaT, but some of the folks expecting to do well with them, by sitting on a “new” one for a year or two, have not been getting rewarded. The froth is definitely coming off the top.
