Yes, 1989 is the only year the G50 5 speed was available in the G model 911 Turbos.
My birthday is tomorrow..

G50s were only on 1989 930s. All others have the 930-specific 4-spd.

Good luck, I think everybody here would like to see you do a deal with the family. Keep it in the neighborhood!

Will try. I’ve come up with a new idea that may get them more money for it without sending out of town for massive repairs/rebuild

If you listed it on BAT in its current condition it would bring maximum value for its condition. Just the opportunity to get it at a perceived discount would drive the price higher. Probably in the mid 70' to mid 80's.

A very nice one just closed at 95 today. Maybe 70. Could be worth a try

Pretty nice comp for 100K
What would it take to get that car to this level?

I agree, project cars are never really what they seem
Its the purchase price that matters

I wanted to post an update since I’ve been getting a steady flow of pm on this car. After asking for help with this and showing me the car, the family has not communicated a single thing to me. I’ve left messages that members here would like to make offers. Sorry, that’s all I have

Update.. ran into the wife at a party 2 months ago and she tracked me down and said ready to sell, gave me her number, we texted a bit then nothing. She tracked me down again tonight (my daughter and her granddaughter play on a volleyball team) and said she wants to discuss it in 3 weeks, when her son 4 states away, can be involved…who knows. I’m going to offer 55 and send it for restoration. Try to keep that bill under 35k. After transporting back and forth, I’ll have 95k plus headaches and entertainment into a car worth 95-110 per my assessment based on similar car/miles/condition sales.

A restoration bill under $35k?

Cars like this are hard to buy, and not be upside down, if that matters to you.

It matters a little bit. My guy says 20-25k to reseal engine and do mechanical. Figuring 10k for light cosmetics while keeping it mostly original, 5k for transport.
