Based upon the description and pics, I believe that is ia car that Vaugh Temple, a long time SF Bay Area PCAer, owned and modified over several years. If this is the case, it has been well built, well taken care of and seldom saw hard use.

Wow thats phenomenal. I remember reading about the aussie building those high HP mag case motors. They gotta be grenades though dont they? Super high revving need to be refreshed every 3rd race kinda things? Cant believe they would be streetable. Or is it that the smaller bore with the shorter distance across allows for one plug to complete combustion? Seems like the way a high compression piston would be shaped it would not allow complete combustion on the far side???

Sounds like the car is fast regardless.

yes- it is vaughn's car. i spoke with him at length about it some months ago when he had posted up for sale on e bay and it did not meet reserve. the spec is "old school"_ eg- who uses teflon bushes anymore when elephants' are available for example. He REALLY likes his car and wants it to go to a "good home" the front fenders are supposedly real 73 RSR so that is an interesting feature

the ad has been pulled just a little while ago- so maybe someone bought it off line already or vaughn got p.o.-ed at some one bugging him

This car did belong to Vaughn Temple.
I purchased the car from Vaughn a year ago for significantly less than 20K.
I have spent the last year making several improvements and tidying up numerous small issues.
The right front Bremtek caliper has a broken stud, one that holds the two halves together, and I am looking for a source to repair.
Help please!

good for you howard! heck of a buy if gotten for less than 20k. bremtek- you can probably get the parts you need from wilwood as i think the bremtek guys used them for the seals and pistons.
does it have the bremteks all around? if only on the front- too much brake!
all i remember about the bremteks is that we could never stop them from squealing no matter what pads /rotors we tried- seemed ok on the track, but their race only construction (no proper dust shields for example) led us to eventually removing them from that car and installing a carrera 84-89 set up

Thanks for replying - I thought this thread had died a slow death.
The Bremteks are all around - haven't driven it enough to experience the squeel. The rotors are later version Carrera's crossed drilled.
I will try Wildwood (Wilwood?) and see what they recommend.
Stay tuned!

Just take him for a ride! That should clear things up.

Congratulations,
