over priced for the miles and the clutch work that is needed...sorry seen some G-50 cabs with way less miles and needing less work for your price

Beautiful $13.5k car, frankly. Needing a tune-up is scary because poor running can mean a lot more. The clutch is a $2k job at least. So a buyer looking at your car, which is very classy by the way, needs to figure they'll spend three large the next day. Then there is the mileage issue. And maybe I'm alone here, but for selling, I'd find an original radio even though they're not very good. It just looks better and doesn't call out "wiring hack job." But if you fixed the mechanicals, you could probably get close to your ask.

I appreciate the fact that you are a senior member of the forum, but I had a master Porsche mechanic in ATL inform me that $19K is a good price. As far as the engine is concerned, I had it tuned, valves adjusted and engine checked. The engine has virtually no leak down and compression read as follows:
1) 165 2)170 3)165 4)170 5)165 6)170. I have searched the internet thoroughly and I didn't find any 87's in my condition under $20K. I found some parts vehicles for you price, but this is a good car. In regards to the radio, they are readily available and shouldn't be an issue for someone who has to have total originality. Respectfully. GEN |

Being a senior has nothing to do with it but understanding a market does...Look at the link above a 87 cab with about 1OOK Miles less then yours and also about 2 k less then yours. I am sorry but your car will sit when compared to the above car

No pissing contest please. If Jack Lewis said the car is a $19K car, I'll go with Jack. He knows the Southern market best. Also, how many months can you use a Cab in Massachusetts?

I am not interested in a pissing match and I am NOT making trying to make negative remarks to rain on anyone’s parade. This particular forum is to discuss the market place, I am sorry if you don’t agree with the people here. There is no reason to post here if you already made up your mind.
I own/buy/sell a lot of 911’s and I totally agree with the board here. Its not all that difficult to find a nice g-50 cab with a LOT less miles and few to no issues at that price. With all due respect to whom ever you asked in ATL the markets just not paying that price. The internet has also smoothed out the price variations around the country to a degree. ( to a degree all you regional guys I know there are still some variations in pricing). Although not rare by any means these cars are not exactly plentiful all over and many people are willing to do the leg work to find the right car which may be more than just around the corner for them. I don’t agree with your price but IMHO I think its worth a bit more than the 13.5 someone else put out there. 15k maybe. Good luck with your sale, trader

I agree with all your points on this...Anyone that knows about these cars should have the knowledge to know how much they are willing to pay for the right car. I have been looking on cars.com, autotrader, ebay and seeing what’s out there for sale. Seems the price has gone down for these cars with mileage over 70k, but at the same time the prices have gone up with mileage below 70k.... The problem with the lower miles higher priced G-50's is you are in line with a 964 model...you can choice your own model there, but as they say the 964 is more modern in creature comforts Also with the higher priced G-50 in the upper 20's you are close to a 993...then that becomes no comparison.... In my op I think sellers that sell the cars too highare not being realistic, hence they sit on the market. I mean it seems they are 1st time buyers buying too low or too high, putting $$$ into the cars and trying to re-coup costs...Seen a lot of ads with “great investment”, it is if you plan on putting it in your climate controlled museum and never driving it. I’ve seen more members here on pelican that have been on the board for a while; sell cars for a fair price, they know what the market will pay...

Same place has this car.
Here it is folks, a 1970 Challenger R/T SE with a 440 SIX PACK. This is a one owner car with 44,000 ORIGINAL MILES. We have the full history of the car, and the original South Carolina Title. This car is heavily optioned and in addition to the 440 Six pack\390HP, the car is equipped with high bucket seats, console, power disc brakes, rallye instrument cluster, super performance axle package, dual exhaust, and much more. This car has just completed a two (2) year total frame off restoration and is in absolute show quality condition. You owe it to yourself to come to our showroom and see this remarkable car. Yes, it's expensive, but it's appreciating in value everyday! This is a GREAT Motorcar Investment!! $139,000 ![]() How many 911's can I pick up for that price ![]()

Fender yup, people can offer cars at any price they like it’s just like any other market, don’t mean they sell there.
Looking at all the sources for pricing on these cars the market has spoken. G-50 cabs with high miles and some issues which could total a few grand that need to be attended to right away are not trading at 19k. There is always that first time buyer out there who is blind to the market but people like that are becoming rare these days with all the info out there on the net. Places like Pelican have done a lot to change the face and the knowledge of potential buyers from newbies to experienced guys. The internet is a great tool, I run through a dozen or so sites once a week looking at 911 pricing all across the country.

This has been discussed many times on this forum. In the market, the level of risk a buyer assumes is directly proportional to the discount she will demand. If your car is not running properly after you performed a tune-up, adjusted the valves, and had the "engine checked," then what's the problem? There exists substantial risk.
Clutches wear out. I view that expense as one that you could pass on to the buyer at almost full value. From the buyer's perspective, there is substantial risk involved in buying a car known to be expensive to fix and immediately turning it over to a technician for a two thousand dollar repair that requires removing the drivetrain. It's not as bad as it sounds, of course, to long-time owners, but to a first-time 911 buyer, that is risky. What else will be discovered? As for the radio, you're right, of course. It's easy to replace for that stock look. But that's not my point. Again, it's about risk. What am I going to find when I pull out the aftermarket radio some kid down at Circuit City installed? Stock appearance adds value for that reason--less risk. Good luck with the sale. Include lots of pictures of stuff that you probably think is pointless like door jambs, and undercarriage, and fuse panel, and owners manual, engine compartment, spare tire, etc. And if you have service history paperwork, that will help mitigate the mileage issue, so mention it.
