Another RS Replica on eBay

Yet another RS Replica on eBay

What are your thoughts on this one? It is based upon a 1979 - looks great, but I'm sure its unlikely to garner what the seller wants/needs.

Other then what Kirk just mentioned ( they're really hefty ) the car looks really nice. IF you go to their website they have many more pictures including the resto pics. The car appears to sit too low in the rear but thats an easy fix.

I bet they want a FORTUNE for it.

It looks the part but will drive like an SC.

That's not a terrible thing but MFI, RS cams, 7:31 ring and pinion and a few hundred less pounds means the RS experience is really something special.

Sub straps going over the front of the seat is a big no-no and if you put 7's on the front 8's or 9's should be on the rear.

RS "Recreation"

They are asking $42K. Very nice built car and looks like a fun cruiser. It's a back dated 79SC shell that was very straight. I'm not sure how much engine work was done. Might be fun to run around in but not going to perform like a 2200 lbs car plus the price is just to high.

If the recent twin-plug actual '73 RS Replica from CA only garnered $35k, the market for this replica has to be at least 20-30% below that one. They have no chance selling anywhere near that price.

It being an SC also is a bummer for CA buyers. It will have to pass smog checks. The early cars are popular for many reasons, but one certainly is the fact that you can do what you want to the engines and still drive it on the street.
