Thoughts on a 1995 993 coupe tip
Hey all,
well as many of you know, I have been wanting to get a 993 coupe upon my college graduation, and my grandma has promised me one when I finish college. Well, I just found out a few weeks ago that I'm graduating in May, and I've been looking online for a 993 with tiptronic transmission. I've found a nice 1995 coupe with 80,000 miles and it's local to me. It looks a nice car, I've got several pictures from the current owner. I've seen it on my local craigslist for a few months now and have seen the price drop from $29,995 to $19.995. Does that seem a good value? I'm not that keen on the 80k miles on it, I'd prefer one with 30-40k on it, but maybe they don't exist anymore... Anywho, here's what the ad says and here's a few pics: Really nice 1995 (993) 911. Midnight Blue, Cashmere leather interior. 80,000 miles, complete service just performed. 18" Turbo Twist wheels. Car runs and drives just like a 911 should. ![]() ![]() ![]()

For < 20k and only 80,000 miles, that is a darn good deal. I think the price is reduced because its a tip and no-one else wants to buy a tip. take advantage. Maybe you
can bargain even more off. I see you have a nice SC - you should be able to get some decent money for that if you are going to sell that also. Good Luck! Marvin

80,000 miles is not bad for a 13 year old car. Low mile cars bring a strong premium, but I don't think you really need a low mileage car. One of the best 911s I ever drove was a '91 with 220,000 miles on it.

Now in 993 land ...

Service history and condition are more important than the miles, ultimately. A local car is worth something, as you can check it out in person and arrange for a PPI in person as well. The price is right, but there may be some more room in there, if you show up with grandma's cash.
All I got when graduating was my first job. ![]() Good Luck, George |
