Currently on eBay:
"Original Miles: 185,433 (check your 911 Buyer's Guides since vintage 911's with higher mileage are worth MORE than lower miles since expensive important services had to have been done)"

I don't like any editorial descriptions whatsoever in a car ad. Sellers of used cars are not competing new car dealers try to out do each other. Most people in the used car market know pretty much what they are after and are informed.

Here's an ad that is wrong from the 1st word to the last"
"The effects of Ford's massive investments in Jaguar were felt with a “back to the roots” design for the XJ6, with a more rounded shape, dual headlights flowing into the bonnet and sleek and tapered lines along with the familiar Jaguar haunches.
Mechanically, an all new and much needed electrical system was installed as well as an updated version of the AJ6 engine, the 245 hp AJ16.
Driving the new Ford manufactured version reveals the difference from the old Jaguar: The engine feels more responsive and delivers more power with better acceleration, especially from a stop. Handling is surprisingly good considering the size of the XJ6 and its vocation as a luxury car, but again good handling has always been a characteristic of Jaguars."

Here's one right next to the first one; this is funny and not bad for getting the info down:

"Fully loaded, tan leather seats, power seats, windows
Power sunroof, cruise control
New transmission (nationwide warrantee)
New tires
Alloy wheels
Dual airbags
Fog lights
AM /FM /Cassette /CD changer
Power sunroof
Must Sell!! I'm pregnant!!!!"

Yeah, well, I generally want to know if it's automatic or manual. And the number of cylinders helps a bit.

Of course, I've seen a lot of 4-cylinder Boxster 2-doors advertised by dealers...

I guess I should have mentioned the vitals were in the form part of the ads.

It is a 'V-6'. A 180 degree V-6 to be more exact.

I used to laugh at all the idiots selling Jeeps with a "V6" until I placed an ad for a Cherokee I used to own- On Autotrader, you must check off a few boxes of info. Engine choices don't include a straight six, or flat six. Is that an I-4, V-6, or V-8? Grrrr.....

My pet peeve is the dealers who list all kinds of "features" such as clock, tachometer, anti-lock brakes, cup holders, yada yada, all the stuff that comes standard, but don't tell me if it's a stick or automatic.

From a AMG CL ad

If you want a perfect car to take on a date tonight DON'T BUY MY CAR. Just buy any plain old low-mileage North American 560 with documentation for $10k-$14k and then post your stories about how much more money you had to dump in the car on the forum of your choice.

Here you are being offered a chance for a rare car, a 2nd car, a car that wont be your wife's first car, nor your sons (hell, i'd rather burn the car and grill a steak on it then watch it die a slow painful death). This is a car that will require more money. This is NOT a new car. If you're not familiar with the platform, I suggest you do your research before bombarding me with retarded questions.

Disclaimer for the Average Ball Buster: (read only if you are one, if you're not sure about your Ball Buster status, ask a friend, colleague or your wife-s/o) If you saved up $5k over the last year for a car, this car is NOT for you. If you saved $4k for a car over the past year and want me to feel bad for you so I'll sell you the car, buy a Civic, they are cheap and reliable. If you're some ass that expects me to buy into one of your paypal/shipping/scams etc; I'll forward your email and ISP address to the Feds where it belongs.

Disclaimer for the Major Ball Buster: Seriously, whats up with people that email you, "how much" as their reply? It says so in the post!! Seriously, the "how much" guys closest friend is the "more pics?" guy. WTF do you want? I'm selling a car, not a pleasant browsing experience for you. There are plenty of sites where you can get what floats your boat without having to annoy me, a guy that just wants his car going to a good home. So for you Mr. MBB that means, come see it in person and get up off that broken-in chair of yours and leave your home with an intent to buy and NOT BALL BUST! Please feel free to use this useful info for every purchase you make, not just my car.

Funny. But most of the 'blind' responses he classifies under 'major ball busters' are just spammer scams.

But there's a lot of truth there. I have yet to see a single response that says "more pics please" turn into a sale.

Another funny CL posting

-RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE IT WAS BUILT TO.
--WAY FASTER THAN THE AVERAGE PERSON CAN HANDLE
---GREAT FOR RACING AND OUT RUNNING COPS-CURVY ROADS AND SHOWING OFF
***ALL WAYS SUPER MAINTAINED BY PORSCHE ON TIME AND RECORD***
--GARAGE KEPT.. NEW TIRES-BRAKES-PAINT
...PERFECT TAN LEATHER ON THE INSIDE WITH A NICE STEREO...
-THIS CAR NEEDS NOTHING EXCEPT SOMEONE WHO CAN HANDLE IT.
--THE PRICE IS $18.700 BECAUSE IT'S WORTH IT--
--- BUT ALL OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED--

He now dropped the price to $16K

Many Porsche enthusiasts would state that this is the nicest & closest RS clone anywhere in the USA.
