79 930 wreck

Its my old car. Friend found this forum and gave me a call. Saddened by the sight. I did a top end rebuild at 66K. She was faster than lightening. Rweally hurts to see it like this. Toured the "Barn" in Gmund then factory in Stuttgart and saw the actual cubicle where she was built. In those times 1 mechanic built the entire engine...no assembly line until 1985.

Well, you could reuse the… um… er… steering wheel, if the finger imprints will buff out.
Wonder where it is today?

I guess I see a lot more value here than most. Motor and trans are at least $20,000 if not damaged
Turbo brakes- $5-$6,000
Those are the big ones. But, there’s a lot more potentially valuable parts. Trailing arms, hubs, wheels, oil lines, interior, turbo gauges etc, etc. Obviously, a different story if most of those items suffered damage.

Thread is 2013 thoughts, 9 years gone. It got bumped because the owner wanted to say “hi”.

It would probably sell today for what a decent 930 sold for when the thread started.

I’m guessing that’s not the wheel that was on it when it was hit. Just a roller put on.
