914-6 value?

I want to help a friend put a value on a 914-6 1970 vintage, number matching car.
This car is in need of a total restoration. I have spent the last couple weeks getting it to run after a 22 year hibernation in his garage.
The car has usual rust in the usual places. Not too bad but not good either.
I have gotten to know this car pretty well in the past couple weeks and I personally would like to take on the project if we can reach an agreement on value. That's why I'm asking here.

Thanks in advance for all opinions!

Here's the same car in slightly better condition:

Porsche 914 914 6 | eBay

Just follow this auction to the end and there should be your answer, adjusted for condition.

How bad is the rust, anything missing?? Looks like a great project, when I bought this Six (also a matching #s car) it was the wrong color, but a driver. Paid $20K for it.

When the restoration is completed, she will look a lot like this one.

Depends heavily on the rust but given the current market and that most of them go back to Europe I would say the car is around $30k. It's #-matching which helps for collectors, looks complete, great project. The last projects on Ebay were going for around $20k and they looked horrible compared to your pictures.

Trust me, thus car needs a total restoraton!
It had a bad respray in the early eighties and some poorly done rust repairs then!
So the picture allows it to look better than it really is.
I have had 914s in the past but never a 6.

Thanks to those that have offered an opinion. I fully understand it is worth what someone will pay and the seller will accept on any given day.

Well my friend finally decided on a number and it is too rich for me. It will go on ebay in another month.

Personally knowing the EBay car I would say it is apples and oranges. The car being asked about here? $25-30k and it will need about that to make it really nice.
