I've seen the Haggerty valuations for 3.2 Carreras, but what are "real word" asking & selling prices these days?
I ask because I'm starting to think about selling my '87 3.2 coupe (69k miles, 2 owners, black/black w. f/r spoilers, v. good condition but not a concours-quality show car). Whether I sell it or not in the near future has a lot to do with what I'm likely to get for it. Comments? Last edited by dw1; 06-20-2014 at 10:23 AM.. |

Depends. Full service records that document its mileage history? Original paint? All original equipment? No accidents? "Not concours quality" needs clarification. No tears in interior surfaces? No cracked dash? Not a lot of paint chips? Assuming positive to the questions above, I'd say high $30s, maybe into low $40s. |

Seen several cars in the last few months sell online in the low to mid $40k range with 70kish miles. But they were no-excuse cars. Not necessarily concours, but no interior or mechanical flaws, original paint, full service, and acceptable paint chips.
Cars is the 50k mile range in same condition are selling in the mid to high $40k. But, like I said, these are also no-excuse, original cars. |

And I am referring to G50 equipped 3.2 Carreras by the way.

Still sounds high, but in this market, it seems people are willing to pay anything for everything.

Sounds high to me too, but that's why I was asking.
Car has a clean carfax and I don't think it was ever in an accident. It does show some slight evidence of paint touch-up (I saw an edge when I replaced the window weather stripping), but after all it is black so everything shows. Maybe at some point in its life the door was keyed. I don't have 100% of the service records as I did a lot of the wrenching myself, but I do have the a copy of the original title and a lot of the records as well as Pelican (and other) part receipts. The dash was cracked, but was recovered by the great Classic 9 Leather Shop (Robert Budd & his crew of true pros). The interior leather & vinyl is in very good condition, but the headliner around the sunroof shows some wear. The car had some mods (euro premuffler, Dansk 1-in-2-out muffler, Steve Wong chip, lowered to euro ride height & bump steer kit installed by Powertech, a CDR220 radio replacing the original Blaupunkt, new speakers installed under stock replacement speaker grilles, the original dealer-installed radio telephone removed, and bumperettes taken off the back) but I kept all the original parts and I'm putting the stock muffler and bumperettes back on if I sell it. It still rides on the original 16" wheels, but with new rubber. Oh, and it also has the full original tool kit, the Porsche air compressor, and the pouch with the original service booklet and an owners manual. So......maybe I keep it, maybe I don't and move on to a 930 or 993 or an older 911 or ...... Decisions, decisions...... Btw, as I've gotten older (and my reflexes have slowed) I like working on cars more than driving them, and there's not anything that this car needs, so maybe I do need to move on to my next project..... DeeDubYa,
You could consign that car at a high end classic car place and they'd list it for the high $30's, low $40's Of course, that's asking price, and you'd pay them a commission. IMO, your car sounds like a $32-35k car with everything working, no accidents or any issues etc. I think you could sell it privately all day long in NJ for that. Nick

Thanks to all the folks who provided their opinions, especially NYNick.
Lots of food for thought. |

I know of a comparable car that was sold last week for $32.5K with a prior salvage title. I would think your car is at $35K or a bit higher.
