1 of 1 1977 Carrera 3.0 Factory Turbo Look

Very interesting car! Do you think the factory really did a one off turbo look in 1977?

$300k Euros!

They show what appears to be the German version of a CoA which appears to show this. No reason why they couldn't have done it. Stranger things have been known to happen.

That CoA is interesting - this is actually a 1978 SC, not a '77. Build was in August '77 and IIRC that was after the model year switch - also supported by the "SC" notation at the top of the page :-)

Except it has a 1977 C3 vin and engine serial number. Wouldn't be the first time they did a special car late production after the normal assembly line had moved on to the next MY of vehicles.

True. I know where there's a 1978 SC cabriolet - 1 of 1.

I seriously doubt that a car like that exist. In fact I am 99.9 % sure that Porsche did not build a car like that.

They never built a 3.1 litre engine either...

Good catch! Funny that the factory still called it a "'78 SC" in the CoA... I guess they pretty much had to, as nobody would want to buy a '77 when the MY '78s were already out.

Ever check out the vin plate on a middie? Here's one from a 1974. Notice anything interesting?

I own '77 C3 Targa SN #0361. It was sold in February of '77. So this car being #0110 which was finished in August doesn't add up unless it was taken back into Porsche to be modified and given a later compeletion date.
