I hear ya Matt...I'm actually looking at 997 turbos since the prices are looking pretty good. I will prob go from 3 down to 1 air cooled cars....

For some reason I am kind if over it. I love the old 901 lines but I'm in a hot rod mood more recently and a middie seems to fit the bill.

I've had 2. Lovely cars, if not slow, and high as well. Rust like crazy...remember the Japanese beer can references we use to make back then? But roomy, sporty, fun...yes!

I would urge Matt not to sell. These cars are going up like crazy, and I don't see them coming down anytime soon. They're the closest thing you can get to a 356 without having to pay 356 prices, and there's a lot less of them around than 911's.. Sure they outsold the 911's early on 2 to 1, but the 911 kept on going...not so the 912.

I'd love one again, but I'm not paying the price they currently command.

Not sure that would be much fun if there aren't any hornets over there to rile up! :)

I sold my 356 because it was a dog. A very pretty dog. A 75 H.P. dog. I already had enough VW's in my life.

I'm just currently bleeding in Glassurit with 2 cars in paint and body and having no skills myself at such things.

You should buy mine. :D

Well, I already have the 912 Workshop manual, as you know!
PM me.

Ronnie's.930 07-27-2015 11:02 AM

There's a twin turbo, 700hp engine under my car's rear lid up thar, and it's a super wide body, but that pink and black camo conceals it (so the longhood & 912 guys won't get scared)! Plus, I'm looking mighty fine in that turtle neck - sweating my teets off here in Texass, though! High fashion sure is painful!!!

The Carrera is equally at home on any highway, city, country or mountain raid.

Oh yes, I agree. Before I lent my '86 to my father I was daily driving the car, taking it everywhere, including the local track. That versatility is part of why I started shopping again. I had assumed dad would give my car back by now. But he likes it too much.

Makes my day when Mr Monson agrees.

Going back to the 912, I truly wouldn't mind having one if only there's room in the garage. In addition to the Carrera, I also bought an SC targa last year... yellow to boot. We might have more in common than you realized !

We are both a-holes from nor-cal who like p-cars. I've always thought we had a lot in common. :)
